INTERIOR BAJA - unexpected pleasures.
SAN IGNACIO CAMP Driving south across the Vizcaino Desert we spy a green fuzz in the distance. Soon we realized that it was tops of palm trees. This oasis is below the level of the desert in a gorge. Here we hide our camper behind a tree to maintanin the ambiance.
MISSION SAN IGNACIO forms one side of the village square. This village was one of our best experiences due to the wonderful townspeople we encountered -- a constable, a merchant and the effusive tortilla ladies.
A DIG that is expected to take over 5 years is being undertaen by this man, an anthropologist from Mexico City. Despite our mutually exclusive languages, we discoverd that this was the site of the northernmost fort of.. [mumblemumble].
